Start With the Right Product
The measurements you need depend on the product you are ordering.

Each RexyWear collar and harness uses specific reference points, so start by finding your product below and follow only the measurements shown for that design.

Before You Measure
For the most accurate measurements:

Have your dog stand naturally on a flat surface.

Use a soft, flexible measuring tape.

Follow the measurement paths shown in the image for your product.

Keep the tape against your dog’s body or coat without pulling it tight.

Enter the actual measurement. Do not add extra room.

Measure twice if you are unsure.

Collar Measurements
RexyWear collars require one measurement.

What to Measure

Neck
-
Neck: Measure around the base of your dog’s neck where the collar will naturally sit. Keep the measuring tape comfortably against the coat without pulling it tight or leaving extra space. Enter the actual neck measurement. Do not add additional room.

Your dog’s neck measurement helps us confirm the appropriate size and build the collar to fit properly.
Step-In Harness (Model Y)
Model Y harness requires three measurements.

Shoulder: Measure from the top of the shoulder at the base of the neck diagonally down toward the lower front of the chest, following the path shown in the guide.

Chest: Measure the chest section shown in the guide, following the line across the lower front of your dog’s chest.

Girth: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs.
These three measurements give us the key proportions needed to build the Model Y step-in structure around your dog’s shoulders, chest, and body.
H-Frame Harness (Model H)
Model H harness requires four measurements.

Neck: Measure around the base of your dog’s neck where the front section of the harness will naturally sit.

Belly: Measure along the underside of your dog from the front chest area toward the girth position, following the path shown in the guide.

Back: Measure along the top of your dog from the base of the neck to the point where the girth section will cross the back.

Girth: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs.
Model H is built around separate neck, belly, back, and girth sections. These measurements help us proportion each part of the H-frame structure to your dog’s body.
Suspender Harness (Model S)
Model S harness requires four measurements.

Shoulder: Measure from the top of the shoulder at the base of the neck diagonally down toward the lower front of the chest, following the path shown in the guide.

Lower Belly: Measure along the lower underside of your dog from the front chest area toward the girth position, following the path shown in the guide.

Back: Measure along the top of your dog from the base of the neck to the point where the girth section will cross the back.

Girth: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs.
These four measurements give us the key reference points needed to build the Model S around its suspender-style shoulder structure and body section.
HarnessLink Collar-to-Harness Converter (Model T)
Model T converter requires three measurements.

Back: Measure along the top of your dog from the back of the collar to the point where the girth section will cross the back, following the path shown in the guide.

Belly: Measure along the underside of your dog from the bottom of the collar to the point where the girth section will cross the belly, following the path shown in the guide.

Girth: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs.
The Model T connects directly to your dog’s existing collar instead of using a separate harness neck section. These three measurements help us position the back, belly, and girth sections correctly around your dog’s body.
Full Measurements
A full measurement profile includes eight measurements.

Neck: Measure around the base of your dog’s neck where a collar or harness would naturally sit.

Chest: Measure the chest section shown in the guide, following the line across the lower front of your dog’s chest.

Belly: Measure along the underside of your dog from the front chest area toward the point shown in the guide.

Lower Belly: Measure the lower underside section shown in the guide, extending from the front chest area toward the girth position.

Back: Measure the shorter section along the top of your dog from the base of the neck toward the girth position.

Shoulder: Measure from the top of the shoulder at the base of the neck diagonally down toward the lower front of the chest.

Full Back: Measure along your dog’s topline from the base of the neck toward the rear of the back, following the full path shown in the guide.

Girth: Measure all the way around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs.
The full measurement profile gives us a broader picture of your dog’s proportions. We can then use the measurements relevant to the specific RexyWear product or custom project being built.
Leashes and Hands Free Systems
No dog body measurements are required.

Leashes and hands-free systems do not require measurements from your dog.​

Simply choose the length and width available for the product you are ordering. We will build the product according to the selected configuration.​
Choosing the Right Width
Biothane width should be selected based on your dog’s size and build, the product being ordered, and how you plan to use the gear.
​
Narrower widths create a lighter profile and are often better suited to smaller dogs. Wider straps provide more structure and a more substantial feel for larger dogs.
​
RexyWear hardware is sized to coordinate with the selected Biothane width, keeping the finished product balanced and proportionate.
